Institute for Government publish Implementing Brexit: Customs report
Released 11 August 2017
The Institute for Government has published a report Implementing Brexit: Customs, examining how Customs operates now and what it will look like after Brexit.
The paper is the second in a series of papers on implementing Brexit, each of which looks at an area of UK Government policy that needs to change as a result of Brexit, and makes an assessment of how it might change, what will be required to implement the change and whether or not there is a cliff edge – that is, policy areas where there will be significant disruption on the day of the UK’s exit from the EU, unless all necessary preparatory measures are in place or a transitional/phased implementation deal can be reached with the 27 EU member states.
