Scotland calls for evidence on delegated powers in the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill

The Scottish Parliament’s Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee has issued a call for evidence in relation to the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill seeking views on the powers the UK Government plans to confer on Scottish Ministers under the Bill.

The Committee’s role is to consider whether it is appropriate to delegate powers in the Bill; the breadth of the powers delegated; the correlation between policy intention and what the Bill enables Scottish Ministers to do in exercise of the powers; and whether the powers are subject to an appropriate level of parliamentary scrutiny.
