Catax, which specialises in capital allowances and claims for R&D tax relief has recovered more than £143m of tax relief for clients, working closely with accountants nationwide.
Leicester-based Croner Taxwise delivers its fee protection insurance policies through a channel of more than 4,000 accountancy practices across the UK. Fee protection insurance covers firms and their clients for the additional costs that arise when a business is the subject of an HMRC enquiry, check, intervention or dispute.
The joint venture will allow the two companies to cross-sell insurance and specialist tax relief products to the accounting profession.
Mark Tighe, CEO, Catax, said: ‘There is a clear synergy between both firms, not only as specialists in our respective fields, but also as demonstrated by each being partnered with the ICAEW.
‘Clients of Catax and Croner Taxwise will have access to additional products and services, which can only be a good thing. By combining our collective skills, experience and contacts, we believe the two businesses will grow and be able to provide a more rounded client offering.’
Ben Chaplin, managing director, Croner Taxwise, added: ‘Both Catax and Croner Taxwise work extensively with thousands of firms of accountants and are ICAEW Member Rewards partners.
‘It makes perfect sense to work together and I look forward to the further development of the services we are able to offer both Croner Taxwise and Catax clients and therefore enhancing the capabilities of their accountancy practices.’
